I’ve been slacking as far as preparing for another Colossians post. Or maybe it’s just been a really busy work week. For the time being, I’m going to try and provide some other ways to entertain you folks.
N.T. Wright continues to stay at the forefront of many discussions these days. If any of you have been following the N.T. Wright/Piper “discussion,” his newest book, Justification: God’s Plan & Paul’s Vision, might be of interest to you. Or maybe you’re like me, and you’re interested, not so much to see how Wright responds to Piper, but because you want to better understand Wright’s view of the gospel and God’s plan to redeem humanity. I like these smaller books that Wright writes because they clearly articulate his views on a much more popular level and in much less detail than his larger volumes.
Wrights voice definitely merits our consideration. And as Dr. Craig Blomberg noted in one of his reviews, it’s time that his critics view him as an ally rather than as a foe. For Blomberg’s review in the Denver Journal (click here). He also has one at koinonia’s blog (this one is much shorter).
Also of interest to you might be the study of this book at the Jesus Creed, filed under “New Perspective.”
